Privacy Policy — Rakaat

Last updated: 23 September 2026

Rakaat is designed to protect your privacy completely. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

What Rakaat does

Rakaat counts your rak'ahs during prayer using your iPhone's front (TrueDepth) sensor. The sensor is used to read distance only — how near or far your body is — in order to detect prostrations. Rakaat never captures, records, or stores photographs, video, or facial data.

Face data and depth data (TrueDepth sensor)

Rakaat uses the front TrueDepth sensor only to measure distance — how near or far your body is from the phone — so it can detect prostrations and count rak'ahs.

Rakaat does not collect, use, store, or share face data. It does not create, access, or retain any facial map, facial geometry, Face ID data, or any identifiable face information, and it does not use face tracking (ARKit). No photographs or video frames are captured, displayed, saved, or transmitted.

The depth (distance) readings are processed only on your device, in real time, and are discarded immediately after each measurement. They are never recorded, never written to storage, never transmitted off the device, and never shared with the developer or any third party. There is nothing to retain or delete, because nothing is stored.

Data we collect

None. Rakaat has no accounts, no sign‑in, and no analytics or tracking. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across apps or websites.

Data stored on your device

The only information Rakaat saves is a small local preference — your chosen appearance (System, Light, or Dark) and language. This is stored on your device only, is never transmitted anywhere, and is removed if you delete the app.

Network use

Rakaat works fully offline. It does not send any information over the internet.

Camera & sensor permission

iOS may ask for permission to use the front sensor. This permission lets Rakaat read depth/distance to count your prayer. No images or video are ever captured or saved, on the device or anywhere else.

Children's privacy

Rakaat does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
